Yesterday was pretty much a blah day. I stayed in most of the time and did my reading for class that i'd been putting off for about a week. I was about to eat dinner when Danielle came by and said I had to come with her- she'd been jogging by the emperial palace and there was a german fest and it was ending at 9. so we took the metro and ended up at Hibiya- where the Tokyo emperial palace is.
They have really pretty roses- i'll have to go back during the day and see them better...
Look It's a German Fest!
It was crazy because there were Japanese people dressed up in lederhosen and other such traditional german garb. playing traditional german drinking songs and music on accoridans, clarinets, trumpts, tubas, trombones.... and I didn't see them played but they had those crazy long horn things... you know.. the horns they play in the alps... i think they might be called alpenhorn??? anyway... they had those.

(howesan- doesn't that remind you of the crazy pictures we took when we went to that vet for ... um... something-something-to-work-day in middle school? with the clock? and that fat cat moose? you know you remember!)
they had random german beer
and signs in german and japanese....
and a bazillion spent kegs.... let's just say the japanese people were really getting into the spirit of the thing. they had a lot of fun during the toasting songs the band played. ('kampai' sometimes just doesn't doo the trick apparently)

the best hats ever- they were shaped like beer mugs and had pictures of pretzels on the other side... they kept clinking their hats together.

the band again! the guy with the accordian not only played that and the trumpet, but later on he broke out the spoons. its was amazing. seriously. when i can upload videos agian, you'll see!

and then we had a terrible pricey dinner in a random japanese place in ginza and went to 7-11 after to buy food that didn't suck.
then i came back, read more homework... and slept.
