no pics this time.... this is pretty much a cell phone search update.
so, 2 days ago, the same day as the previous post (sunday), i went looking for cell phones. seriously. it's going to happen one day. but because it was sunday, they closed early, at 5:30. I really thought it was going to be 8pm, so I went anyway. And...well... no. At 5:45, they were very very closed. so.... yesterday, after doing the TUJ tour, which i'll elaborate on in another post, we went out to dinner and saw that the cell phone places were open until 8...it was 7:15. but we hadn't eaten since noon and were starving so we ate and missed the cell phone buying phase of the day again. today, i have class from 11-1:30, 2:10-4:30, and then 7:10-9:30. so maybe during my dinner break/whatever time from 4:30-7:10 i can go buy a keitai(cell phone).
oh, and for cell phones, they are free for incoming calls and texts are around 5cents. but, it's around 50cents a min for japan-japan calling and about a buck a min for in japan-us calling. this is because cell phones went from being a luxury to a necessity for living in japan a while ago. now, it will seriously hinder not only your social life but your safety if you don't have a cell. The university says that if they could make it mandatory that everyone staying longer than 6 weeks get a cell, they would. but they can't so they just seriously recommend it.
so.. it'll be pricey, but well... i'm sucking it up, so dad...you should to.
to make up for the crazy prices. people pretty much text all the time. but i'm going to shop around and try to find the best deal.
